Every journey has to begin with the courage to move forward... and First Steps Foundation understands that! Our programs and collaborations focus on educational initiatives, youth outreach, and family support. We work with children and people of all ages who are in vulnerable situations, by supporting a variety of services and initiatives tailored to their individual needs. #EmotionalResilience #Bulgaria #Spain #Rommania #NorthMacedonia #Hungary
First Steps Foundation is partnering with schools and civic groups from Bulgaria, Romania, North Macedonia, Hungary, and Spain to develop their vision for Roma Tales, a project that will be developing curriculum for children of Roma heritage, encouraging them to appreciate their ancient history, culture, and language through educational initiatives, projects, and interactive technologies.
Spring 2025
#Bulgaria #StrongerTogether #EveryChildMatters #RaisingResilientKids #SupportVulnerableChildren
First Steps Foundation’s TESOL education program has a longstanding relationship with the Petr Parmakov School in Gradets, Bulgaria – and we’re about to get bigger! In conjunction with the Global Schoolhouse Initiative, we’ll be running a pilot program at the school in the spring of 2025, focusing on English language skills and emotional resilience.
Fall 2025
#wholeWorld #ABigStoryAboutMe #TellingMyStory #HealingThroughStories #WritingANewStory
The publication of A Big Story About Me! – based in the recent research done about the importance of genealogical and cultural history for vulnerable children – will make this valuable resource available for children’s care homes, foster parents, and families who want their children, ages 4-8, to develop emotional resilience and connection. This will be followed in 2026 by Telling My Story, for children 9-14, and Writing a New Story, for young adults from 15-18.
